Broadberry place a lot of importance in the security and reliability of our solutions. The AMD EPYC is the first ever server CPU that contains an embedded security processor on the SoC. This specially embedded security processor manages memory encryption as well as a secure boot process. These two features work together to make sure your data is kept secure during the boot process, as it runs, and through the movement of virtual machine through servers.
Using the AMD Secure Root-Of-Trust technology, you have the ability to boot only from trusted firmware images, depending on the implementation of your server vendor.
AMD Secure Run Technology is available to encrypt the main memory, keeping the hardware secure and safe from anything malicious accessing it. No modifications are needed to use this, and the encryptions keys are never exposed outside the SoC.
If this technology is turned on in later hypervisor versions, there will be the ability for virtual machine to have their own separate encryption key. This further increases security as each machine is suitably isolated from the rest.
Finally, with AMD Secure Move Technology you will be able set up a secure channel for SoC-to-SoC communication channel. This channel can be used by virtual machines so as they move between AMD EPYC SoC-powered servers, which means there will be no point where any key is exposed or any data is unencrypted.
